Marcus Joel

Yesterday was our son-in-law, Marcus', birthday.  It's a very important day for us because we celebrate that Marcus became a part of our family over twelve years ago.  But unfortunately it was also the day of our 50th class reunion and my head was filled with apprehension and nerves and I spent the day preparing and recovering from a little too much celebration the night before when our daughter Amy visited for the first time in a long time.  Just as we were walking out the door for the reunion, it hit me.  Oh my gosh!  Is it Marcus' birthday?  And it was.  I felt terrible but determined to at least text a birthday wish from the reunion but my phone had not a whisper of a signal.  But enough with the excuses because this post is for and about Marcus.
As I indicated earlier, Marcus is an important part of this large family.
And an even more important part of this smaller family.
This is Marcus 'through the years' since we've known him.

So these are pictures of Marcus since we've known him but they don't tell you a lot about him.  Marcus is a sweet, loving, considerate, kind, and helpful guy.  He changed Lori's life and ours too back in 2004 (all for the better).  And what a loving father and devoted husband he turned out to be!

And he and Lori and family moved to Nebraska in 2007.

Therefore, we don't see nearly as much of him as we'd like to; but he's always the first one to help out with long drives and anything else that needs to be done.  We probably wouldn't even have our specialty rye bread pizzas every New Years Eve if it weren't for Marcus.  But most of all, I can't emphasize enough what a loving, sweet, and easy-going person he is.  Because this is the kind of person he is, I'm confident that he'll understand and forgive this little-bit-late birthday post.  We love you, Marcus, and hope your day was awesome but not nearly as awesome as the year ahead.  Happy Birthday a little bit late!

    1. You're welcome, Marcus! You deserve every kind word and more. (But I'll never quite forgive myself for dropping the ball on the big day. :( )

Gentle, strong, kind or true, I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Short or long, it's up to you, your comments and thoughts really make my day!
