David

Today is David's 19th birthday!
David is our 7th grandchild and 5th grandson.
He is an important part of this large family.
And an even more important part of this smaller, large family.
I wrote about David in 2016 on his birthday and in that post are links to all his previous posts.
And there are many picture of him and how he's changed through the years so I'll just put a few in here.

And now I'll just talk briefly about David and what a great kid he is!  I can still call him a kid right? He is without a doubt one of the nicest most thoughtful people you could ever meet.   At the Christmas house this year he danced with his younger cousin in the talent show where they both did SUCH a great job!
He posed with his brother
Did wind sprints with his sister,
and he still had time to be a buddy to his younger brother
and pose with his family for a Chicago Cubs Championship celebration photo.
He graduated from high school this year where he excelled academically and participated in several sports including football.  He also played club volleyball.  We attended a game and I caught these pictures of him hitting and the opponents thinking they were going to block his shot.
They really never had a chance.
And he's attending college on a volleyball scholarship where he is again excelling academically but he's paying the price.  With practices 3 times a day this past week he's busy beyond belief.  In fact when I asked if he was doing something special on his birthday, he replied that he was taking Aleve and going to bed. But we know David and we know he'll do it all!   In fact in college so far he has all A's and B's.   That's not easy even when there are no extracurricular activities.
He and his girlfriend, Jannell are not attending the same college but are definitely still an item.
David is an all around awesome person.  (In the midst of everything else going on in his life, he volunteered this year to help in the Special Olympics.)  He's hard-working, responsible, smart, loving, and very family oriented!  We could not be more proud of him or love him more than we do!
So Happy Birthday, David!  I hope you're having a wonderful day and that the coming year is even better than your very busy but special day!
