Busy Weekend So Far

What a beautiful Spring weekend it's been and not just because of the weather.

Friday night Superbaby brought his mom and dad for a visit and the three of them have been here since. Unfortunately they're leaving this morning after breakfast but I'm thrilled that they were here for a couple of days and stayed with us! While they were here I was able to catch a couple of photos of Superbaby's feats. Would you believe this first one shows his daddy pulling him off the tree that he had quickly scaled when we turned away for just a second?

Well, don't. LOL Actually his dad was showing him what it might feel like to climb a tree and had just lifted him up there.

Seriously though, here he is working hard to reach the toys that were in the bottom of the tub. Later on he was standing on this upside down tub but I didn't have my camera close enough before his mother snatched him off.

And then yesterday evening look who came for dinner.

And he brought his family with him! Here's a picture of him with his older brother and sister.

Can you believe how lovingly his sister shows him off?

All in all, it's been the kind of weekend that warms my heart marred only by the fact that Mr. Right has worked through almost all of it. But when payday rolls around even that will be a good thing.

Superbaby Turns One

One year ago today I was lucky enough to join my daughter and grandson-in-law in the room where my granddaughter was going to deliver her first baby. That labor was ...well laborious. I saw my granddaughter reach way down deep and pull up strength and stamina that I didn't know she had all so that she could avoid a c-section. She did what I don't think I could have and it was dramatic and emotional. I don't know when I've been so proud of her. Of course, when she got to that transition part, she was begging for a c-section but we all know how crazy we get at that stage of labor.

Jack was finally born and we all wondered if he would be the Superbaby that Mr. Right had dreamed about.

And as it turned out, I think he might be.

Here he is at eight months, watching TV with his cousin:

Jack was walking at 9 months. But by 10 months he wasn't just stepping from place to place or person to person. He was walking all over the place like it was his job:

Also at ten months it began to appear that he was destined to be a rock star someday. He could handle a guitar like nobody's business:

And he even did some dancing while he played:

He's also very loving especially to his Great Grandpa who seems to get more sweet baby hugs than anybody:

He can throw a ball and say lots of words.... especially ball. And he's the sweetest little great grand baby we've ever had.

So Jack Victor, keep on smiling!

'Cause we can't wait to see what you're going to do next year!

Happy Birthday, Superbaby!

Superbaby Came To Visit

My great grandson visited us this weekend and it was wonderful. He and his wonderful parents were here from Friday evening until Sunday. Of course, we had to begrudge some time with his other great grandparents and grandparents but that's okay. We got our time too.

I feel so weird when I talk about our great grandson. Great grandchildren used to only belong to the very, very elderly and I'm NOT! He could easily be my grandson agewise so it's very hard to reconcile myself to the fact that he isn't. He's a GREAT grandson. Wow!

A few months before he was born, Mr. Right had a dream. He dreamed that someone had a baby and he was pretty sure it was our second oldest. The amazing thing about that baby was that he was incredibly strong and advanced for his age. In the dream, he could walk right from the get go. And because of his amazing strengths, everyone called him Superbaby.

So when our precious great grandson started rolling over at 2 weeks of age, we had to think of Mr. Right's dream. And the baby's mother is the daughter of the one that Mr. Right thought had the baby. So little Jack is strong and bright and beautiful. He rolls over all the time...either way. He sits up as you can see in his picture and he coos and responds with smiles and stares when appropriate.

So you see, dreams really do come true. He really is Superbaby:
