Amy Lynn - Yesterday and Today

Today is Amy's birthday!
Amy is our second child and an important part of this core family - where her story began.
She's also a very important part of this very large family,
this smaller, large family
and, of course, this smaller beautiful family.
I wrote about Amy in 201120122013, 2014, and 2015.  Those posts tell you a lot about Amy's yesterdays.  And the following pictures will give you an idea of how she's changed 'through the years'.

But I now want to talk about Amy's todays - what's been going on in her life during the previous year.
She's still working at a charter school where she's a para professional which means that she works with kids with special needs.  This year has been spent phasing out a child she's worked with for a couple of years who is doing better and phasing in a second grader who needs special attention.
Since we last wrote about her she's welcomed a new granddaughter which is wonderful because she loves her five grandchildren so much!

And she's spent innumerable hours watching her daughter's softball games.  It was Jenna's first year playing high school ball which made for a new adventure for Amy
In addition, she's spent lots of time driving Jeremy to his golf practices, meets, and his new job on a golf course.  Having a child with a job is another big change for her.  She also drives him to meets with the Kensington Junior Golf Tour which encompass four different counties in the area.
She and Tracy are continuing work on their house where the bathroom has been completely remodeled and the living room is a work in progress right now.
She vacationed in Golf Shores during the Christmas/New Year break and looks forward to going again.

And this year she's enjoying making plans to spend a week at Waffle Farms campground in August for the first time in 2 or 3 years.
And they might even squeeze in a visit to Michigan City the last week of August!!!
So with preparation for Jeremy's senior year, driving the kids to dances, prom, and marching band, and working full time while running a busy household, she's a very busy girl.  It says a lot about her that most of her activities center around everybody except her.  And she wouldn't have it any other way.  She's selfless and generous, kind and considerate, and a lot of fun to be around.
We are incredibly proud of Amy.  It was one of the happiest days of our lives when she was born and she's been a joy and a blessing ever since.  So Happy Birthday, Amy!  Sorry we aren't there to celebrate with you but writing about you makes you seem close by.  We're hoping the coming year is your best one yet but only half as wonderful as the many more to come!
