Stranger at Striebel Pond

Striebel Pond, where I like to walk, is a good place to see all kinds of dogs. There are plastic bag stations all around the path so that there are no excuses for not picking up the business of dogs and for the most part the owners do a great job. Therefore, dog walkers and walkers like me get along quite well.

The other day, though, I saw a dog that looked different from any dog I had seen there (or anywhere else for that matter). The person walking him stopped to chat and let me take a few pictures. I said I hadn't seen a dog like that and she said, no and you won't. Not in this area. Here he is:

Isn't he cute and foolish looking? (Do you know in what book the main character describes a cute animal as foolish looking?) Anyway this dog is a Berger Picard or Picardy Shepherd. The breed originates in France. Isn't he cute?

I really enjoy walking at Streibel Pond where there's so much to see.

  1. I think this needs to be one of the places we walk this summer. Don't you? The dog is adorable.

  2. What a cool dog! He sure is a're right, I haven't ever seen anything like it...

  3. He's VERY cute. It's cool that you weren't too embarrassed to ask for photos, too.

  4. He does have personality! how cute!

  5. the first thing I thought of was, what a very interesting dog. He is adorable. Such great shots of him. I have to go check this place out with my doggies.

Gentle, strong, kind or true, I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Short or long, it's up to you, your comments and thoughts really make my day!
