Addendum to Looking Back Tuesday

Last Tuesday I posted a story about when Mr. Very Young Right and I were first married. I talked some about our honeymoon and even posted a couple of pictures including the all important picture of the tissue dispenser and towel rack in our motel room. Since then, I've run across a couple of pictures that I think really should have been included.

It's the morning after. We were so young. And so skinny. Sigh.

And please note, young women of today, how torturous it was back then to have beautiful hair. For a quick do, we put these prickly rollers all over our heads, put a hood over everything with a hose attached which led to the machine that pumped warm air for drying. The norm however was that before we went to bed, we put these prickly rollers all over our heads, and then slept with them in. Ouch.

Now I just wish I knew what it was that I was putting in that paper bag.

  1. LOL, I love the pictures, of course. I can't get enough of them. Your hair looks fabulous in the rollers, I can't imagine sleeping in those suckers! eek! Also, I think that the thing you were putting into the bag must've been some part of the contraption that you attached to your head to make your hair look beautiful. Right?

  2. I think it looks like the hose to the hair dryer. Remember when they came up with the hair dryer that let you move around the room with it on? I certainly remember wearing the rollers to bed. Amazing that we all had children. We couldn't have been too beautiful in the rollers. Oh my gosh, I hadn't thought about that in years. Oh the pain of beauty in those days.

  4. Good grief, what a hair nightmare! I'm suddenly feeling very grateful for my hair dryer and flat iron that heats up in 30 seconds...

    and also my ponytail holder.

    Love this!
