You Capture - Yellow

I knew this one was going to be a challenge. I don't have any yellow in my life. I know that for sure because right away I started watching for it and there wasn't any - until I came home from running an errand one day and spotted a single yellow iris where it doesn't belong. And I photographed it because it was lovely and YELLOW!

And then on one of my walks at Striebel pond I photographed a sun dog, lots of animals, and this yellow sunset.

On another walk at Striebel Pond, I encountered more yellow. I would have gotten lots of sharper pictures except that the big bully you see in the background just wasn't having it. It's surprising how intimidating an angry goose can be. lol

For more You Capture Yellow photos visit Beth at I Should Be Folding Laundry and you can see pictures taken where the photographers didn't have to be chased by any very large, hissing geese!

  1. Oh, these are all lovely! I though I liked the sunset the best, but then I saw the ducklings! I have a soft spot for ducks.

  2. Oh, my!! I'm not sure which I love more. The goslings are so fuzzy and sweet looking, but the flower with dew on it and the sunset are so beautiful

  7. Nice job. You know, that geese shot would have been so much less interesting if you'd gotten all of Mama and the whole flock of babies. Even if you did get all of the babies, cutting that last baby in half makes me think there are LOTS more to come. Excellent capture! And I'm not just saying this 'cause you are you-know-who's Mom.

  11. For someone who didn't think they had yellow in their life, you did a fantastic job. I'm not sure which is my favorite, the sunset or the ducklings. Great captures.

  13. Oh yeah! You don't want to mess around with an angry goose protecting her babies. We had geese on my college campus many years ago and during hatching season we sometimes had to rely on the services of campus security to help us get to class without being chased by a Mama goose! I love your iris and your sunset and your goslings and I clicked the link to look at all of the other pictures of your walk, as well, and they were beautiful!
